what is the most comprehensive book for learning Java language?
Any suggestions for a good java book that you went through yourself?

To learn a language, you do NOT want the most comprehensive book. You want a book from the "Dummies", "Idiots", or other introductory series. When you understand that and can actually do the stuff they show, THEN you can graduate to the comprehensive books.
