   Gifts Ideas to Bring to a New Mom In the Hospital?
   
   A good friend is having a baby (her first) in a few weeks and I wanted some cute gift ideas to bring to her when I visit in the hospital. I was thinking balloons or flowers, but doesn't everyone do that? I already gave her gifts for the baby, so I was thinking that this gift would be more so for her.

   Cute clothes in a little bigger size.  Your body changes so much after a baby, and you have been wearing those maternity things for so long.  No one wants to have to keep on wearing that stuff after the baby is born.  So nice regular clothes would be the number one choice.  Bath/body stuff is nice, too.  This will remind her to pamper herself when things get hectic.

   When I had my first born son, everybody was bringing me cute baby clothes and other items for the baby, and they were all very much appreciated, and some flowers too.  A friend brought me some cute baby things as well, but also brought me a jar of sweets and some cooldrink.  My energy was down, and I really appreciated it. I guess not a very creative gift, sweets and cooldrink, but, gee, I sure did appreciate it.

   Anything that's definitely for her -- edible goodies, skin stuff...I don't know about most people, but my doctor told me to stay out of baths for a couple weeks after my son was born and only take showers. I'd also suggest that it be something small...moving out of a hospital room is a HUGE chore after everyone has stopped by with their gifts, and it still has to be able to fit in their vehicle and get home with them.
