What Christmas gifts would be appreciated by men?

Every year, I buy my husband gifts that I think he would like.  I feel I put a lot of thought into them, but he never likes any of them!  To the men out there (or wives that are more savvy than I), what gifts would you appreciate this year?  I am taking a poll!

I really don't know how to answer your question. As a man, and I've explained this to my wife, if I want or need something (which isn't often) throughout the year, I buy it. By the time the Christmas season rolls around, I'm hard pressed to think of something that I want.

If you are determined to get him a gift, maybe asking his coworkers if he has mentioned anything to them throughout the year.

As to what I would want, well...I'll get back to you if I think of something!  ;-)

Ha!  My husband told me the same thing today - that if he wants something, he buys it.  This is why Christmas is hard!  Expectations are just too high for good gifts.  Thank you!

That's funny. I'm guessing this is a common issue with men at Christmastime.

I'd appreciate a Princess Leia costume and being my slave girl for the day.

Aside form that, I am impossible to shop for. I like books, That's usually a safe bet. I like clothes and shoes, but am very picky, so that usually doesn't go very well.

One safe option would be to get some sort of consumable. Something you know he likes but goes through on a regular basis. A shoe polish kit, cigars, craft-beer subscription, etc.

Or something to organize stuff he already has. It may not sound exciting but I could use a bookshelf and think that would be fantastic. If it were a bookshelf rescued form the trash and refurbished that would approach awesomeness. For him, look for something he struggles with on a daily basis. Perhaps a nice messenger bag if he always has loose papers, a car organizer if it is always a mess, a hands-free phone set-up, etc.

Great answer and very helpful - and funny, too!  I think you're on to something.  Thank you so much for the sincere answer and good ideas.  I hope you get a refurbished bookshelf!  You should drop hints (or state it!)!  Great ideas....!

By this time of year is when my fragrance ends up, so usually I request one any brand that smells good and if it's cheap. Moreover, I ask my girlfriend always something specific and to tje rest of the family something random or money.

my men prefer something related to his car, so I bought this car toolkit instead

I was looking at a car toolkit - it was a key chain with all emergency stuff on it, like a glass breaker, etc, in case of an accident.  A general took kit is a great idea, too.  Thanks!  Good one!

I peeked in here for ideas and found some interesting ones to consider. My hubby is always grateful for any techno gadget and equipment. I know he will use it and loves to tinker with them.

Thank you!  I am struggling with this!  I hate wasting money, but it seems anything I come up with is not what he likes!  I do have a few good ideas now though.  The site mancrates.com is very cool and also there is salt block cooking?
