It is okay to be single
Older people frown upon younger people being single. People in long term relationships make a big deal if someone was not in a relationship for a long time.
There is nothing wrong with being single. Just because you are not with the right person now does not mean that you will be alone forever. Sometimes it takes time finding the right one. Before you are in a relationship with someone you have to love yourself. How could you expect someone to love you if you do not love you?
When you love yourself you know your self-worth. You will refuse to be treated less than you deserve.
The more single you are the more experience you have. You do not have to sleep around to find love but getting to know different guys could help you determine what you want in someone. It is important for ever girl to experiene; chasing the bad boy, falling for the shy guy and going through different types of romances in life before finding the one that she wants to spend the rest of her life with.
Just because someone is in a long term relationship does not mean they are happy. Sure it is nice to be in love but they miss out on so much.
When you are single you get to stay out as late as you want and not have to answer to anybody. You could have guy friends and not have a guy get jealous. You could go away with your friends and just do what you want. When you are young it is important to have your freedom and enjoy life. After all you only live once so enjoy these times. Once your married you will not get to experience this anymore.
People who have been with the same guy forever do not always give the best advice. Say you like a guy but he is in an on again off again relationship. He flirts with you and you know it is wrong to like someone who is taken but you cannot help how you feel. People in relationships may look at you like you are horrible. They never been in a situation like that so they do not know how you should feel. There is something wrong if you break that couple up or date him knowing he has a girlfriend. You cannot change your feelings. You just have to let those feelings go away on their own.
When you are single you are around different guys and it could help you determine what you want in someone, once you are in a relationship. For instance you are around the bad boy and he is giving you nothing but problems. He upsets you so much that you know how to tell a guy is a bad boy. You know that in the future you do not want to date the bad boy. You see a nice guy who treats you amazing. You know those qualaties are the qualaties that you want in a significant other.
Experiening different guys is good because that means that you are living. Life is all about experiences and learning from them. No matter what experience you go through at least you could look back and say "I lived it." When other people are with the same person and they only experienced life with that same person. They think that they are in love but they do not know because they have no one else to compare it too.
If someone makes you feel that you need to be in a relationship in order to be happy there is something wrong with them. While it is great to be in a relationship and know at the end of the day there is someone who loves you, being in a relationship is not everything. Do not let a relationship determine your self worth. The day will come when you will get to be with that someone special and it will be worth the wait. It is a great experience being with someone amazing but it is even better to look back and know that you were not settled down with the same person since you were 21.
