To Veil or Not

Ideas that click and add Inspiration!

So many types of veils, and so many alternatives to wearing a veil.

Once you decide that you will wear a veil or you decide you are going to wear a hair accessory, now it's time to decide what type. A feathered hair clip, pearl hair pins, or a tiara.
It's best to take care of your hair weeks before your wedding day, like regular trims and treatments, but if time and money is an issue for you, just gel it and slick it back for your wedding day, if you are wearing hair accessories like a comb tiara that is smaller than a regular tiara and can be worn front center of hairstyle.

Lifting The Veil:

Some brides will want to stick to tradition of having the groom lift the veil to unveil the bride. Wedding veils come in one, two, three tiered or layered styles, different lengths, and colors. If you know how to sew or your friend does, you could buy a plain inexpensive veil and sew on lace appliques or attach rhinestones to your veil. You can buy or have your wedding veil customized with rhinestones, pearls or embroidery. Your wedding veil can enhance your wedding dress by creating fullness or giving the illusion of fullness.

Types of wedding veils:

Mantilla Veils: cost a little more but are so beautiful and romantic, mantilla veils come in different lengths and lace patterns. Mantilla Veils came from religious beliefs and traditions, and during prayer services. Traditional Spanish mantilla veils can be worn by not only the bride but her bridesmaids, or her mother. If you think about it, in some countries this still goes on today, where females have to be completely covered up from head to toe. When shopping for a mantilla veil, try a religious store or website, where they sell rosaries and other religious items, they seem to be sold at a cheaper price.

Wedding Veil Lengths:

Shoulder Length: 20 inches, ends at shoulder

Elbow Length: 25 to 35 inches, ends at elbow

Chapel Length veils: 90 inches

Cathedral Length Veils: 120 inches
