   Are you addicted to Hub Pages?
   
   Are any of you addicted to Hub Pages? I think I might be, but i'm not sure if that is a good thing or not. Should I embrace the addiction or fight it?

   Addiction is never a good thing.  It is an attempt by the human psyche to escape from something instead of facing it. 
   
   Ask yourself why you need to get (or stay) on an endless cycle of
   1) escaping from reality,
   2) indulging in self-nurturing by feeling in control,
   3) experiencing the guilt and/or concern you mention in your question, then
   4) avoiding those feelings with yet another escape from reality,
   which then continues the cycle.

      Thanks Marie, i'm not sure i experience all of those emotions. To me the issue is the amount of time i spend on it. I really enjoy it though so i guess it's about balancing my time better.

   I love HP!  I am here nearly every day.  I don't look at my frequency of being here as an "addiction" though.  The community is great.  I enjoy sharing what I know & learning what others here know & share.
   I want to think of it as a part time job, but I haven't reached a point yet where I'm making enough money here to do so   Someday though...
   
   When you're looking at HP as an income (or future income) source, it is important to spend a good deal of time here: Writing high quality content hubs, commenting and participating, responding to readers, as well as the work involved in getting your hubs seen by sources other than the HP community.  It can take up a good chunk of time.  If I was spending the same amount of time writing articles for a magazine or newspaper people wouldn't say I'm addicted to my job  
   
   Do what you love & love what you do!  As long as it's within healthy, reasonable parameters.

      Plus I'm 1/2 way through my 30 hubs in 30 days challenge... so that causes me to want to be on even more right now.  Gotta get 'er done!

      Thanks Mom Kat, I love it too. I see it as a positive experience and i am improving myself by writing and reading which is better than being addicted to fags or booze! Good luck with the challenge! I might give it a go myself.
