A Change of Mind
"No matter how much faculty of seeing a [person] has, the step from knowing to doing is rarely taken." Ralph Waldo Emerson
More resources than I can count...
After writing my last post about Bible contradiction, I began looking up resources online. Wow! More than enough to keep one busy for a long time. With that in mind, I have decided not to continue with the side by side comparisons. You can find enough of them simply by entering "Bible contradictions" or "Bible errors" in your search engine and you will be readily supplied with as many as you care to peruse.
I will close out this not-gone-too-far series by saying this:
Even though I believe beyond doubt that the Bible is a human created document, that no outside deity had a hand in dictating it, nonetheless, the book has been instrumental in my own spiritual development. For that I am grateful.
Do I know everything about the Bible? Heck, no. Do I know enough? Hell, yes.
OK, enough of that. Next time I will be back with a bit more of my controversial style. I close with one of my very favorite scriptures.
"Do not believe what you have heard; do not believe in tradition because it is handed down many generations; do not believe in anything that has been spoken of many times; do not believe because the written statements come from some old sage; do not believe in conjecture; do not believe in authority or teachers or elders; but after careful observation and analysis, when it agrees with reason and it will benefit one and all, then accept it and live by it." (Attributed to the Buddha)
