An Offering Of Praise For God's Great Love
We Thank You Lord
My heart is full of thankfulness. It is so full I cannot sleep tonight though the chaos of the day has made my body and mind weary. My daughter's home caught fire today around noon. Noon is an odd time. Everyone was safe. Today was the first day of school for my grandchildren and my daughter, a teacher. Her two stepsons and her daughters were all four with her at school (small town school has K-12 under one roof). Her husband had been gone all morning and had gone home to put the two babies down for a nap. They are 7 months and 2 years old. He smelled smoke and went to check things out. Long story shortened is he ran the babies to his truck, saved a case of diapers and the laptop and called the Fire Department! They arrived quickly and put out what has turned out to be an electrical fire which began inside the wall. If it had occurred at midnight...no one would have survived. God is SO good!
We are a family of Christians. Generations of Christians. Today that legacy warms my heart and soul! My daughter and her family are working hard to set a good example within the community. She is an amazing young woman....she teaches middle school language arts and math, a full time graduate student, mother of 4 + 2, wife, and new business woman selling body wrap weight loss program. Her hubby is an at-home dad and is remodeling a house they just bought (not even 6 months ago). They attend church regularly and have a working relationship with the Lord!
Anyway, this entire hub is merely a token of thanks offered up to the Lord. It could have been horrific. It could have been the worst day of our lives, literally. Instead, it is an opportunity for us to give God praise for his amazing love which saved us all from the horrors that lay in waiting to happen. The amazing grace of God protected them all from this disaster. My son-in-law moved quickly, therefore he and the babies were safe. He did not panic nor act foolishly and try to handle it himself. God gave him wisdom. I am so thankful for God's guiding hand. The firemen were able to save the kitchen, dining room and family room. The bedrooms were a complete loss. The lives were not! It is the precious lives that are priceless! The rest is replaceable and knowing God's amazing provision....it will be even better than it could have been anyway!
Today we are blessed again! Praise God for his love and grace! His mercies are new every day! His grace is sufficient!
Lord, accept our offering of thanks and praise. It is meager in the scope of your great grace, yet we offer it none the less. Thank you for your provision for salvation and your mercy for each new day! You alone are worthy of our praise! We offer it with humble hearts.
The generations of His grace hold true to this day. It is real. It is true. It is God's great love shown forth in our lives.
An Update
It has almost been 3 months since the fire. Bryar, 2, still talks about "people take my bed. My bed yucky. My bed fire." He will never forget. The cabinets are going into the kitchen and they just picked out the new carpet. The construction company has gotten it really close to done. They MAY be into the house in time for Thanksgiving, but they will definitely celebrate Christmas there! We are so pleased and excited that God has blessed! Thank you all for the love and prayers!
