All of us come to this earth on purpose and I believe everything happening around us is predetermined
As a child I used to wonder who I am and what is the purpose and meaning of life. Even after 42 years on this beautiful earth, that question is still there in the back of my mind. I started reading some of the literature by spiritual giants and listening to their TV programmes. One thing is clear to me that all of them tell us to think positively, act well and speak well. Love towards self and others, purity of thoughts can bring about a peaceful mind.
Love
It is something all of us crave for; many of us complain that we don’t get enough love and attention from our fellow beings. It is something which can put you in misery, if you always demand it. It is the most beautiful feeling on earth, if we are ready to give it. If we have to prepare ourselves to love others, it is essential to love our own self. If we can do everything in this life with love, we get a lot of satisfaction.
Let’s take a small example. All of us love to be on hub pages. I love to be here because; I have the freedom of expression, a sense of belonging, feeling of being recognised and also a means for additional income. But, apart from all these positive aspects, when I write an article, I always think, I should do my best and the correct information should be given so that it becomes useful to someone out there. I take it as an opportunity to contribute towards the welfare of humanity, even though in a very small way. This love and concern towards others give us a lot of satisfaction.
So the question is
“Is the purpose and meaning of life, of our existence on this earth to be able to love others?”

Purity of thoughts:
If we are born on this earth to realise our own selves, we need to have purity of thoughts. Purity of thought in itself is divine and it will lead to divinity. Pure thoughts can lead to good actions. Good actions will benefit us as well as mankind. Good thoughts and good deeds are definitely going to help us remain happy. Such thoughts will bring us the company of people having similar thoughts so that our minds remain at a higher level which will help in our spiritual growth. At physical level, body is the seat of mind. If mind is kept pure, it will help in maintaining a pure body, I mean a body without diseases and illness.
So the question is
“Is the purpose and meaning of life, of our existence on this earth to have purity of thoughts?”

I should say it is the most valuable treasure on this earth. If you go around the globe and ask people “Do you experience peace of mind?”, only a handful may answer positively. Mind is very difficult to control. It jumps from one thought to other within the fraction of a second. All of us have experienced this sometime or the other. “Is the purpose and meaning of life, of our existence on this earth to have a peaceful mind?”
I believe it is essential to have the ability to love our own self and others, which can be attained only by purity of thoughts and that in turn will lead to a peaceful mind, thereby leading to our spiritual progress which is the essence of our life on this earth. The purpose and meaning of our life is to achieve this spiritual progress.
