Is There a Link Between Christianity and the Law of Attraction?
Christianity And The Law of Attraction
As someone firmly grounded in your belief it is somewhat normal to question a new or suggested way of life. You don’t want to invest any energy in anything that could conflict with your faith or make you question it in any way.
As a Christian, when I first found out about 'The Secret' or ' The Law of attraction' (LOA), I made it my mission to find out as much information as possible about it ensuring that it did not in any way conflict with my Christian beliefs or aim to invalidate them.
The more I looked into the 'law of attraction' the more excited I got! Instead of conflicting with Christianity it seemed to fully support it.
In my opinion taking all my findings into consideration, The Law of attraction seemed more like an expansion or “further reading manual” to Christianity than anything else.
There are numerous similarities between Christianity and The Law of Attraction. I will focus on the ones I find to be the most spectacular. I will make reference to Bible scriptures in my demonstration of this.
Faith and Believing
The Bible is plentiful when it comes to passages centered on Faith and Believing. This is also one of the major elements and focus points of The Law of Attraction and “The Secret”. Manifestation with use of The Law of attraction alone, has at its core believing to such extremities that you don’t only have faith that you will obtain a certain desire or hope for it BUT that you believe and live as though you already have it!
The Bible:
Jesus said to him, “If you can believe, all things are possible to him who believes.” Mark 9:23
He replied, "Because you have so little faith. Truly I tell you, if you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, 'Move from here to there,' and it will move. Nothing will be impossible for you." Matthew 17:20
Karma and the Law of Attraction
Karma which is actually refers to the spiritual principle of cause and effect, also makes a feature in both the Law of Attraction and Christianity.
The Law of attraction emphasizes that like attracts like and you get out what you put in. This implies that negative energy will bring you more negative energy and positivity, love and happiness going out attracts it right back to you.
In Christianity this can be referred to as “Reaping and Sowing” -
Do not be deceived: God cannot be mocked. A man reaps what he sows. Galatians 6:7
Further Bible verses state:
So in everything, do to others what you would have them do to you, for this sums up the Law and the Prophets. Matthew 7:12
In my opinion and interpretation of this verse, could it be that we are warned against doing what we would not want done to us because the same will be done to us if we do??
Similarly:
Vengeance belongs to Me (Says The Lord); I will repay. In time their foot will slip, for their day of disaster is near, and their doom is coming quickly." But I tell you, do not resist an evil person. If anyone slaps you on the right cheek, turn to them the other cheek also. Matthew 5:39
Again, in my interpretation of this, GOD is The controller of the Universe and Karma. God is the creator! If God IS the Universe and Karma, and God will repay, then this is further support to the fact that Karma exists and you get back what you put out.
My final self-explanatory reference from the New Testament:
"Put your sword back in its place," Jesus said to him, "for all who draw the sword will die by the sword. Matthew 26:52
Gratitude: The Bible and The Law of Attraction
The LOA highlights the importance of thankfulness and appreciation stating that you will get more to be appreciative and thankful for. The Bible stresses this too going even further as to demonstrate the dangers in the opposite – being ungrateful and complaining.
The Bible states:
Give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God's will for you in Christ Jesus.1 Thessalonians 5:18
And they all ate and were satisfied. And what was left over was picked up, twelve baskets of broken pieces. So the people all sat down. Taking the five loaves and the two fish and looking up to heaven, He (Jesus) gave thanks and broke them. Then He (Jesus) gave them to the disciples to distribute to the people. And they all ate and were satisfied. And what was left over was picked up, twelve baskets of broken pieces. Luke 9:14-17
For further reading read Numbers Chapter 14. It demonstrates how the ungratefulness and complaints of a generation of Israelites led to them never seeing the Promised Land.
The Power of thoughts: The Bible and The Law of Attraction
The Law of attraction magnifies the power of thoughts. It enlightens that what you think and how you feel not only influences your life but can actually create it and everything that occurs in it. Similarly, the negative beliefs or thoughts you may have also play a big part in the way your life unfolds affecting everything in it including your physical body and health.
Likewise, the Bible states:
For as he thinketh in his heart, so is he Proverbs 23:7

The Power of Words : The Bible and The Law of Attraction
The Law of attraction warns that your words including the negative ones and phrases people utter set laws on their lives impacting them negatively.
The Bible states:
The tongue can bring death or life; those who love to talk will reap the consequences. Proverbs 18:21
And the tongue is a flame of fire. It is a whole world of wickedness, corrupting your entire body. It can set your whole life on fire, for it is set on fire by hell itself. James 3:6
The one who has knowledge uses words with restraint, and whoever has understanding is even-tempered. Proverbs 17:27
Those who guard their lips preserve their lives, but those who speak rashly will come to ruin. Proverbs 13:3
There are so many more!!
In further demonstration of the Power of words in the Bible, are the fact that God SPOKE THE WORDS to create the world. HE SAID “Let there be light". When healing, Jesus also SPOKE the words, HE SAID "Get up and walk", and “Your FAITH has made you well."
In Conclusion: There is more than just a link between Christianity and The Law of Atrraction
Everything that I have discovered when it comes to the Law of attraction, I had already known from a Christian standpoint. Hearing about the Law of attraction thrilled me because I was made to feel even stronger in my faith and more confident that Christianity is the right path for me to follow.
