The Power of the Heart

“It is only with the heart that one can see rightly; what is essential is invisible to the eye.” --Antoine de Saint-Exupery

Matters of the Heart

I am sure that you have heard that the brain is a powerful tool. But what if I told you that the heart is actually more powerful? In fact, modern science has done experiments that prove this to be so.

Gregg Braden shares some of these mind blowing findings, regarding the power of the heart, during an interview:

“The human heart is, now, documented as the strongest generator of both electrical and magnetic fields in the body.” [italics are mine]

Greg continues:

“The heart is about a 100 times stronger electrically, and up to 5000 times stronger magnetically, than the brain.”

I was blown away by these findings that Greg shared, yet many people still think they are powerless creatures. I am sure that you have heard these self-defeating statements before:

“I can’t do anything. I am powerless. What can I do?”

These are not true. You are a powerful creator that has come here to do great things. There is nothing that you can’t be, do, or have.

Don’t listen to the naysayers that will tell you that you can’t. They don’t know who you really are. They don’t know that you have a powerful heart that puts thoughts into motion.

We have also heard about the importance of the heart from the great mystics, poets, and songwriters form our past, as well as today. Here are a few quotes to ponder:

“Your vision will become clear only when you look into your heart…Who looks outside, dreams; who looks inside, awakens.” --Carl Jung

“The purpose of the heart is to know yourself to be yourself and yet one with God.” --Edgar Caycee

“Does this path have a heart? If it does, the path is good; if it doesn’t, it is of no use.”

--from The Teachings of Don Juan: A Yaqui Way of Knowledge by Carlos Casteneda

Saying Goodbye to Fear

If you have awakened, I am sure you know that we are constantly being bombarded with fear by the media. Those that are still asleep might say this:

“Why would they do that? Don’t they care about our welfare?”

Fear is a powerful way of controlling people. Take a look at a couple of lines from Jack Johnson's song, "Good People."

"Turn on the boob tube, I'm in the mood to obey

So lead me astray."

However, I don’t prescribe to the fear mongers fear-based messages. I am much rather interested in sharing love with the world.

Love heals. Love soothes. Love also has the power to change our world.

Remember, that powerful song by U2 entitled, “Pride (In the Name of Love),” in which Bono describes the love that Martin Luther King, Jr. had for humanity.

“In the name of love

What more in the name of love.”

Now, I know what you are about to ask: “How can we do what the great leaders did for humanity?” It is very simple:

Think from your heart, instead of your mind.
