We are to Abide in His love.
We are too...
Jesus is very clear in what I am about to share. I can only hope that others are able to see and do as He has instructed us to do. This is so important, as is all that Jesus has instructed us as believers to do. So I will get right to it..
Love and Joy Perfected
“As the Father loved Me, I also have loved you; abide in My love. If you keep My commandments, you will abide in My love, just as I have kept My Father’s commandments and abide in His love. “These things I have spoken to you, that My joy may remain in you, and that your joy may be full. This is My commandment, that you love one another as I have loved you. Greater love has no one than this, than to lay down one’s life for his friends. You are My friends if you do whatever I command you. No longer do I call you servants, for a servant does not know what his master is doing; but I have called you friends, for all things that I heard from My Father I have made known to you. You did not choose Me, but I chose you and appointed you that you should go and bear fruit, and that your fruit should remain, that whatever you ask the Father in My name He may give you. These things I command you, that you love one another." John 15:9-17
We as believers, upon coming to know the Fathers love in sending His son, are to abide in that love, which we have come to know personally. It is in knowing His love that we are to also to love one another. In loving one another we to, are loving God. Jesus fulfilled what His Father commanded Him. We now are to fulfill what He commands us. There are many instructions that are clear in the word of God that we should follow and put into practice with in our everyday life. With that said I believe that it makes room for more hubs in the future. For now I just want to convey some scripture that has spoken to me and hope that you can glean something from it and are challenged or edified in the matter of Love.
Appreciation of the Mystery
“For this reason I bow my knees to the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, from whom the whole family in heaven and earth is named, that He would grant you, according to the riches of His glory, to be strengthened with might through His Spirit in the inner man, that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith; that you, being rooted and grounded in love, may be able to comprehend with all the saints what is the width and length and depth and height— to know the love of Christ which passes knowledge; that you may be filled with all the fullness of God. Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us, to Him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus to all generations, forever and ever. Amen.” Eph 3:14-21
Are we Loving...?
It is so amazing to know that God is at work in our midst and is doing great things. I can say this, I do not ask that you take my word for it, but simply rely on what God’s word is conveying. Here is some more scripture that I believe is tying this message all together. Again I am not out to add anymore to this hub, Just what is needed, and ask the question are we loving our brethren?
The Imperative of Love
“In this the children of God and the children of the devil are manifest: Whoever does not practice righteousness is not of God, nor is he who does not love his brother. For this is the message that you heard from the beginning, that we should love one another, not as Cain who was of the wicked one and murdered his brother. And why did he murder him? Because his works were evil and his brother’s righteous. Do not marvel, my brethren, if the world hates you .We know that we have passed from death to life, because we love the brethren. He who does not love his brother abides in death. Whoever hates his brother is a murderer, and you know that no murderer has eternal life abiding in him.”
The Outworking of Love
“By this we know love, because He laid down His life for us. And we also ought to lay down our lives for the brethren. But whoever has this world’s goods, and sees his brother in need, and shuts up his heart from him, how does the love of God abide in him? My little children, let us not love in word or in tongue, but in deed and in truth. And by this we know that we are of the truth, and shall assure our hearts before Him. For if our heart condemns us, God is greater than our heart, and knows all things. Beloved, if our heart does not condemn us, we have confidence toward God. And whatever we ask we receive from Him, because we keep His commandments and do those things that are pleasing in His sight. And this is His commandment: that we should believe on the name of His Son Jesus Christ and love one another, as He gave us commandment.
The Spirit of Truth and the Spirit of Error
Now he who keeps His commandments abides in Him, and He in him. And by this we know that He abides in us, by the Spirit whom He has given us.” 1 John 3:10-24
Brothers and sisters, we are to abide in His love. In Him, as we experience His love, we can share that same love to a lost and dieing world. As we are obedient to what He has commanded, there are so many amazing things that can take place in our lives because of His great Love He lavished upon us. It is so important to see that He told us to love one another as He has loved US. He loves us unconditionally, and wants us to do the same toward each other. I would like to close this hub with one last piece of scripture, and also invite you to leave comments, it is so encouraging to see the hearts of my brothers and sisters who are out there.. Blessings
“And Jesus came and spoke to them, saying, “All authority has been given to Me in
heaven and on earth. Go thereforeand make disciples of all the nations, baptizing
them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them
to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even
to the end of the age.” Amen.” Matthew 28:18-20
