Walk in the Open

Lift up your head...to the coming King

Live Where You Are

I have been reading Sarah Palin’s book “Going Rogue” and I am quite amazed at the courage and tenacity of this godly woman…I know she is not perfect, in fact, what I admire is about her is her honesty about her own faults and foibles…as well as within her family. There are no perfect people on this earth but there are saved ones…saved by the blood and the love of Jesus Christ. And...there are people who have the courage to walk in the open...displaying His love and Life. I see Palin as one of these.

She makes no apologies for her faith and her obedience to Jesus. She adamantely refuses to compromise her God-given conscience. As Palin says quite often in her book…she always tried to go home at night from her day so that she would be able to sleep…
If something is causing you sleeplessness then perhaps a re-evaluation is needed as to what it is you are doing and why…I so wish I would have had this philosophy and wisdom in my life much earlier than now…but better late than never …and every day is a new day in Christ.  I can begin to live with better wisdom right now…every minute, every hour I can turn afresh to my Lord, bow my knee to His Lordship and Sovereignty.

I had never recognized Politics as a work done for Jesus…but as I read this book and Sarah’s focus and integrity I begin to see that it doesn’t matter much what you are doing (unless of course you are walking in darkness) but it does matter how you are doing it…ministry of the Life and Word of Jesus is being given out every moment of the day, no matter what the arena is a person walks in.

And God said, "Let there be light," God saw that the light was good, and He seperated the light from the darkness.
And God said, "Let there be light," God saw that the light was good, and He seperated the light from the darkness.
For the Son of Man came to seek and to save that which was lost.
For the Son of Man came to seek and to save that which was lost.

Live in the Light Not in the Dark

It’s an amazing thought! Jesus truly is everywhere and involved in anything. Just walk in the Light and not in the Dark and they (people, your friends, your co-workers) really may be amazed that you are not joining in their dissipation but as Peter says in 1st Peter 4:5,

"...they will have to give an accounting to Him who stands ready to judge the living (Believers and folowers of Christ) and the dead(the 'world')."

If only the world knew…oh if only they knew…

I get so excited at the next verse, vs.6…YES!!!

“For this is the reason the Gospel was proclaimed even to the dead…so that…though they have been judged in the flesh as everyone is judged…they might live in the spirit as God does.”

Lord…You are so gracious…Your mercy is without end…I am humbled by Your mercy…

This moves and rolls within me,

Don't give up praying and hoping for those who are lost…for those who really do not know the truth, who have not seen His mercy and His complete grace… my heart lifts up in praise…for His faithfulness and deep love…

If we, God's saved people…if we, knowing from where God has taken us and brought us,into His eternal Light…if we, who have seen and known God's mercy would take up that mercy and share it with everyone about us…

not save it for Sunday morning…or the mission trip…or outreach…but let it loose and overflow at all times…to everyone, not just those “we” feel deserve it…what a difference that would make.

Then, it’s God's love that is making the difference. Who can resist His pure love and mercy…what a difference that would make for the sick and the needy and the lost, those who don’t know… For if they really knew…if they really knew... how could they refuse…but they are blinded and deceived by their own deception…by the deception of the world or the enemy…by that which is at enmity against the Spirit at all costs…the enmity which has no scruples as to the tools it uses to fight…

The end of all things is nearthereforebe seriousand discipline yourselvesfor the sake of your prayers!
The end of all things is nearthereforebe seriousand discipline yourselvesfor the sake of your prayers!

Just Live

Again, I turn to 1st Peter…as Peter says,

“The end of all things is near…therefore…be serious…and …discipline yourselves…for the sake of your prayers!”

Discipline yourselves…I must learn to discipline myself…to use the power that Jesus has given me in the Holy Spirit to empower me to discipline myself…for if He thought I couldn’t do it…if I didn’t have the ways or means then Jesus wouldn’t have spoken through Peter for me to do this very thing, as He would know that I could not…but…I can…with the Word by my side…His power in me so I can discipline myself…for the sake of my prayers…

So that the prayers of righteous person would be strong and effectual as we are praying in, with and through the power of the Holy Spirit as He is able to manifest Himself and is not grieved…so for the sake of our prayers…be serious…know that the end of all things is near…it’s near…it’s near…listen to the words about us…see what is going on…we have a work to do…a life to live and declare…for lost ones to see and hear…we don’t have much time left…

Oh God empower us and fill us full with the urgency that is so evident in Peter’s words…fill us with a compassion for Your people and Your hearts, Your sons and Your daughters…oh God, for Your creation of which we are a part of…
