The Best Carrier Oils For Aging Skin

Carrier oils are natural, plant and vegetable based oils that carry the essential oils and other skin care ingredients to your skin. They are easily absorbed and that is an important factor when you want the best skin care results. You have to determine which oils will work best with your skin type and this article will help you to discover which oil you need to provide your skin with great anti-aging results.

Avocado Oil

Avocado oil is easily absorbed by the skin, and it is able to deeply penetrate your skin cells. That makes it a first-rate carrier oil. It can increase the amounts of collagen which is beneficial in supporting the structural foundation of your skin. Avocado oil contains a large amount of sterolins. Sterolins can help to reduce your sun or age spots your skin may have. They also promote the healing of scar tissue. Avocado isn't a thin oil, it tends to be thick and heavy, so it's best to combine it with a lighter oils when you use it in your skin care recipes.

Borage Oil

If you have dry or mature skin, choose Borage oil. This carrier oil is rich in gamma linoleic, a friendly essential fatty acid that helps to maintain and restore the moisture in your skin. Another benefit of using essential fatty acids is they will keep the membranes of your cells supple and they will slow the amount of water loss in your skin. Borage oil contains tannins and they keep cell membranes flexible and slow water loss from skin cells. The tannins also provide your skin with a tightening and a toning effect since they act like an astringent. Borage oil is known to promote the production of prostaglandin, a powerful anti-inflammatory which can soothe irritated skin.
