Fashion forecasts

What's the ‘in’ thing in fashion this year? Fearless forecasts from popular fashion designers are summarized into something ‘metallic’ in color or ‘tiger’ in designs. As the Year of the Metal Tiger approaches, there are many preparations and speculations in the fashion world that may become the trend the whole year round.

Lady Gaga-look

The popularity of pop singer Lady Gaga dominated the world last year and will continue this year. Songs of the Madonna-wannabe are being mimic or imitated by teens and even children here in the Philippines. I’m sure the Lady Gaga fever is being felt in other parts of the world, too.

Even her looks, from hair, makeup, accessories and dresses are being copied or imitated. Fashionistas will surely go gaga over the super hot singer.

Colors, Dresses and Hair Styles

During the International Fashion Week, many designers agree that leopard or tiger prints will dominate the year.

Tricolor highlights will be fashionable for hair styling. Women will also go for eyelash extensions.

Francis Libiran, a Filipino fashion designer said that the colors that may dominate this year will be purple, green, torquoise, coral, silver, black or rusty metal.

While women are always eager to talk about new things in fashion, men will also go for baseball jacket and military style of clothing.

These are just forecasts for the way we should dress for the Year of the Metal Tiger. Personally, I will not go for the signature clothes the whole year round. If I have excess money for it, then I will be tempted to buy clothing that will positively enhance my personality.

Timeless Fashion Quotes from Famous People

"The beauty of a woman is not in the clothes she wears, the figure that she carries, or the way she combs her hair. The beauty of a woman is seen in her eyes, because that is the doorway to her heart, the place where love resides. True beauty in a woman is reflected in her soul. It’s the caring that she lovingly gives, the passion that she shows & the beauty of a woman only grows with passing years."

— Audrey Hepburn

"Fashions fade, style is eternal."

— Yves Saint-Laurent

"I like being a woman, even in a man’s world. After all, men can’t wear dresses, but we can wear the pants."

— Whitney Houston

"The most important thing to remember is that you can wear all the greatest clothes and all the greatest shoes, but you’ve got to have a good spirit on the inside. That’s what’s really going to make you look like you’re ready to rock the world."

— Alicia Keys

"It’s a new era in fashion - there are no rules. It’s all about the individual and personal style, wearing high-end, low-end, classic labels, and up-and-coming designers all together."

— Alexander McQueen
