The Dead Sea is well known for its health benefits and many people travel there annually to rid themselves of their health complaints, but did you know that Dead Sea salt is good for your skin too? It contains a number of mineral salts and nutrients that can help you get healthier and glowing skin.

How Dead Sea Salt Works

It helps a number of skin problems including acne, psoriasis, seborrhea, scabies, acne and dermatitis. Soaking your skin in a water and Dead sea salt solution can take away some of the discomfort without any harmful or negative side effects. This salt is recommended by the National Psoriasis Foundation as a treatment for psoriasis. Surprisingly it also helps dry skin and has detoxifying effects. It’s also been said that it helps to increase cell regeneration and may even fight some of the early signs of aging.

Dead Sea Salt Body Wrap

Doing a body wrap at home is a great way to give yourself all the benefits of a visit to the spa without the price tag. This body wrap is not only cheap to do, but will give your skin a real pampering while nourishing and healing the skin as well.

Ingredients

1.8 Liters of Water

250ml of Dead Sea Salt

Additional Items

A Body Brush

Fabric strips or towels

Cling Film or Plastic Wrap

Bring the water to the boil and add the salt. Stir the mixture well until the salt has dissolved and then set it aside to cool down.

Brush your skin thoroughly using the skin brush, and then have a warm shower to open up the pores.

Dip the fabric strips or towels into the water and wrap it around yourself. Start with the feet and slowly work your way upwards. Wrap plastic wrap or cling film around the towels and then lie down to relax for an hour or so.

Remove the towels and plastic wrap before taking a shower to rinse off the salt water and apply a moisturizer of your choice.

Tip: You could use a warm blanket to put over yourself while you relax. The heat will help the minerals and nutrients penetrate the skin.

This body wrap is not only economical but could work wonders on your skin. If you’re struggling with skin problems, then this may be the easiest way to get all the benefits of a trip to the Dead Sea without having to pay for a plane ticket as well.
