Impact Page Builder

To be honest I am not a real techno junkie- its pretty unusual for me to get excited about a WordPress Plugin for example - but Impact Page Builder - has done just that - made me excited!

Impact is a new plugin realized by Eric Hamm who also developed the Frugal WordPress Theme. I liked Eric's work on Frugal - but Impact Page Builder has gone way, way beyond anything I have seen with a WordPress plugin.

In a nutshell this plugin gives you complete control over your website - instead of using a theme to give you a consistent look to your entire website: Impact Page Builder will allow you to build unique templates for each and every page and post on your site!

Key Features of Impact Page Builder

IPB is a plugin that allows you to completely customise the look of any page or post on your WordPress site. And I mean completely. This is not just about creating a couple of alternative templates - maybe one without a sidebar one with a left sidebar. Impact Page Builder gives you a blank slate. Key features include:

  • runs on any site running WordPress 3.0 or higher
  • runs with any WorPress theme
  • provides a real time editor - so you will see the effect of changes as you make them.
  • allows an unlimited number of templates for your site - you could have 100 pages each with a different template if you wanted to!
  • allows you to include your own custom CSS coding to control the look and style of your page
  • works with WordPress's new custom menu feature to allow you to customize the menus of your template
  • works with custom widget areas allowing you to easily include custom links (affiliate offers, advertising etc. etc), for you template
  • includes 15 custom hooks to allow total customization of your template using text, html, css and javascript.
  • free upgrades for life.

Why Would You Want to Use Impact Page Builder?

If You Use WordPress to Deliver Your Info Product

If you have a blog which has unique pages such as offer pages, landing pages, product download pages - then Impact Page Builder will allow you to build whatever you need without buying expensive products that ONLY provide a specific solution.

Large Affiliate Marketing Websites

If you have a large site which includes a number of different topics - Impact Page Builder allows you to create different templates for each part of your site with relevant links. For example if I had a travel site which included both a trip diary of my trip and also a number of more general articles I can provide a different navigation and internal links for both.

Optimizing Your On-Page SEO

If you are writing at HubPages you may be aware that one of the reasons Hubpages rank so well and so easily in the search engines because of the strong internal linking structure - which provides ONLY relevant sidebar links on each hub, IPB allows you to replicate this on your own site without resorting to hardcore website tools.

Impact Page Builder is Not For Everyone.

IPB is not for everyone - if you are happy with a simple blog - you don't need it. If you have just niche sites - you don't need it either. But if you have larger sites or are offering your own (or affiliates) products - then you really should take a second look at this product. Its a game changer - and they don't come along very often.

If you are going to use Impact Page Builder a lot then you will need at least some familiarity with CSS - after years of putting it off I finally bought a CSS book - and its been invaluable.

Hi Lissie tit sounds like an awesome product and better than or the same as Socrates but with the options of more templates on one site but a bit different. One is enough for now but will there be site examples and is it for reuse on all your wp sites.

Hi Butch - its not a theeme - its a plugin -that's why its infinitly more flexible thana a flexible theme such as Scorates. For example - I can have a site about cats and dogs - but have a cat template where ever link on the sidebar and the menues go to cat related items while the dog's templates goes to only dog related products and sites - and I can do this for as many niches as I can be bothered with.

There are 2 prices one for a single site - and one for every site you own (plus client sites) - you can upgrade by paying the difference if you wish to upgrade later.

Hi Lissie!!

Thanks for hitting another home run!! It's hard for me to believe you are still able to operate at this high quality when faced with continued earthquake challenges/after math? You are the BEST!!

I just clicked on a few of your links!! WordPress is a FREE platform; is ImpactBuilder something one buys??? If so, how much?? (I couldn't find a price before it says 'commit to buy!??')

Have a GREAT weekend good soul!!

Blessings always, Earth Angel!

@EA - I deliberately mention the price becaues that would mean that I would have to go back and update the hub if the price changes! That said at the time of writing its $44 for a single site license or $88 for the right to use the product on as many sites as you wish. Yes WordPress is free but something like Impact has taken quite a lot of time to develop and also of course comes with support. These days I used paid themes as well because my time is not free and I'm happy to pay for good products that save it :-) Have a great weekend!

This sounds quite mind-blowing - however I've been caught by downloading plugins and then finding I can't understand them, so I'd be a bit hesitant about actually paying money for this if it needs a knowledge of CSS. Sounds like a must-have for the more technical-minded Wordpress blogger, though.

It is pretty mind blowing Marisa - I can handle some CSS (now) wish I had more design ability though!
