Samsung Galaxy S Duos S7562 Price and Specifications

Updated on December 16, 2012

It is another wonderful phone from Samsung which has already got good response from market. Its look and style is almost like Samsung flagship phone Galaxy S 3. The price of the phone is Rs.16800 ($340) in Indian market. It also offers dual GSM functionality with both SIMs active simultaneously. But are the specifications of the phone up to the price you are paying? or is it just look of the phone that is catchy?, take a look in details,

PROCESSOR (1 GHz Cortex-A5 Single core)

The processor is promising, but at this price, Samsung could have provided Dual-core processor. Cortex – A5 is one of the most modern processor and is capable of supporting Android 4.0 (Ice cream Sandwich). But if it was a dual core processor, response would be more faster and also will be more useful with processor intense apps. But compared to its dual core opponents it will be less battery draining phone. The Graphics processor Adreno 200 GPU is good for gaming purposes, but not excellent. It is the same graphics processor used in phones like Samsung Ace. Also the phone has some critical drawbacks like it will not support HD video payback by itself which is there in almost all phones of same price range. But using custom third party apps, you can watch HD videos.

RAM (768MB )

The RAM is good enough to run Android 4.0 and support some apps. Samsung has provided to the maximum which can be expected for this price. Also having good RAM will allow you to run lots of apps simultaneously. It also will be helpful in running games needing good amount of RAM. 4GB internal storage is provided with the phone. But operating system will consume around 2 GB. Then final usable data storage space in phone will be 2GB only. But as there is the provision to expand using micro SD card up to 32 GB, it is enough.

4 inch TFT Capacitive Screen(WVGA/ 480 x 800 Pixels.)

4 inch screen with WVGA resolution is good display. But not excellent. With bigger screen, pixel density will be less than phones with same resolution and 3.5 inch screen. But having bigger screen has its advantages also while watch movies, playing games etc. TFT capacitive touch screen is responsive enough.

Camera (5MP Primary and 0.3MP Secondary)

Primary camera of 5MP is good quality and feature rich. The camera offers features that is present in most of the similarly priced phones like auto focus, multi-shot, panorama mode, geotagging etc. LED flash of the camera is good enough to take moderate quality pictures even at night also. 640 x 480 resolution, 30 fps Video Recording is also possible in the phone. But it is a drawback that it is lacking HD video recording or playback, because even lower priced phones of SONY provides 720p HD video recording and playback. Samsung provides a 0.3MP secondary camera which makes video calling possible.

Battery (1500mAh)

This battery is good enough power the phone for one day with moderate usage of call, WIFI, 3G etc. As the processor is single core, it will not consume as much battery as compared to dual core phones of same price range. But the battery is not excellent. As it needs to support 4inch display and dual SIMs, you cannot expect more than one day backup with moderate usage.
