Tips For Video Blogging

Video blogging is one of them blogging methods that requires some confidence to have your voice at the heart of your video content and also may require you to have larger disk space n your website if you are to be making a regular thing of video-blogging and also a fast running server, aside from these technical essentials a good video says more on a personal level than any blog post typed up could ever do.

Any blog can use RSS to syndicate their content and even with the addition of video blogs you can also share your videos more easily to other RSS aggregators.

Using video as a promotional tool is one of the best things you can do for your personal website or business website, because you can promote your series of ebooks or new products with demonstrations galore and insider information that can make the decision for someone to buy or not to buy, it's a really good medium for that personal touch, I'm experimenting with video for the time being and I've become sort of stuck with a 2 dimensional video format of me drawing some drawings with the camera facing the drawing paper at all times and me just doing a voice over describing what's going on.

The influence of short videos of 30 seconds to a few minutes is the best thing to create for your video blogging career, because if people like what they see, they can either subscribe for more and they learn to trust your insights and could therefore buy any products that you release later on down the line. Actual proof is more tangible with a video of the details, just make sure you plan your videos well, so that they are well received and not confusing with the descriptive title that usually appears at the top.

Now to start in the area of video blogging all you need is a good digital video camera or web camera and a decent microphone for sound and a bit of lighting, also video software is essential to edit your video, I use Windows Movie Maker, because it's easy to use and quite quick to, but there may be others out there that are far better such as Camtasia which is free for 30 days, but then you have to pay nearly $300 for which seems alot, but it's well worth the money if you do loads of video screen captures as well.

Web cameras are considered the best as you can clip them to areas around the room or set them up almost anywhere and the higher the cameras resolution and mega pixels the better the overall picture will be, always consider angles of your subject that you are shooting so that you cover all areas of the topic in question.

The lighting is also an important factor because with good lighting when you are videoing new content you should have a clearer image that is crisper and a good video to watch that isn't distracting.

With a good microphone you can create a great voice over and some special sound effects or some music through your computers video software, just remember to make your sounds fit your video content and make your video as interesting as possible and your video editing software can help greatly with this task.

From what I've seen with other blogs that use video alot is that they also write around the videos that are being presented because they want to capture search engine rankings as well for their blogs by adding some extra insights into the video that viewers are about to watch, some bloggers just write in text what is said in the video, which is okay, but that's only writing for the search engines really and I find that a lazy way of doing things, instead I write about what I intended in the video and why, so that it adds a new dimension to the video.

Online you can see the results of video marketing and you can see how effective it is to promote and educate, especially on sites like Youtube where there are countless experts who only exist to refer and be experts in their chosen niche.

Videos involve the customer and they become a part of your hobby or business in some way, so start video blogging today, because the more creative you get with this form of marketing and content generation the better for you and your blog.
