I would say Iphones as they can do everything an Ipod can do and more. Only problem is its a lot more expensive.
Its possible to make calls using your Ipod touch though , if you can connect to a wireless network and use the internet you can turn your ipod touch into a voip phone:P so there's a bonus for you and considering how much cheaper it is to call using voip you would think more people will start doing it:)
iPhones, they can basically do everything, surf the net, download games, organise events, contacts, search videos on youtube, call people, use for music, videos, photos, i can't continue otherwise I'd be here all day
I think that iphone is definetly a better choice when you consider their features but iphone is lot more expensive than ipod and ipod can give you double the memory to that of iphone at the same cost.
iPhones definitely have the upper edge between the two. You can do so much more with an iPhone. If however, you are comparing between an iPhone with an iTouch then both are very similar. The only thing you would have to choose between is whether or not you want something that can make calls and take pictures and videos or something that has ALMOST everything that the latter has. So overall the iPhone is what you would choose if you want to have something more than a snazzy mp3 player.
Better for what? One is a phone with the ability to play music, the other is a audio/video player. Different devices. No plan required for the latter. What good is an iPhone if you don't have a monthly plan at high prices?
Iphones are the most awesome thing on the planet. there is no comparison between he two. Knowledge is power and with the world wide web in the palm of your hand that makes the palm owner pretty darn optional? time is money! and a picture is worth a million bucks. Here is the thing. I use pc's but I would never EVER try and save a few dollars to get around the perfection of the iphone. Two kinds of people in this world. the kind who have discovered the iphone and the kind that have not and will not because they are blind stubborn sheep. people that try and tell me how they have this flip phone touch screen phone and the company is "catching up" HA! get real. this frustrates me to no end. www.miniglasspipes.com
Id say both are about the same depending on where you come from, if youre in a city, you are better off with a ipod touch cause it will find a wireless internet for sure. If youre in a small town, then you should get iphone w/ dataplan
iPods and iPhones are different devices. They service different needs.
iPhone is much more powerful, additional functionality make huge difference. When you can use GPS, google maps, etc. while driving (specially in NYC)
Well an iPod (Touch) is simply an iPhone without call/SMS/MMS capabilities. Obviously the cost of each device reflects this.

Please don't use forums to post promotional links, this info would be better off as a hub in itself, I'd read it Personally I prefer the G1 anyway, much more potential.
