It has been reported on the Financial Time and the Guardian, so unless they failed t check their sources (which is possible), it looks true. Bad, but not that surprising. Google is so huge now that their revenue requirements are massive.
The idea they can achieve this by just being "good" and fluffy has long become hollow. Look at Apple.

A bit out of my tecchie level, but I could mostly follow it. Seems to be it's either Google Pirates, a conspiracy of employees, or a company directive.
The part of me that wants to believe it's a small group of rogues, and not deception on a massive scale, at executive level, dominates.
I'm an optimist. I mean, what kind of world are we living in if Google behaves this way?

I am a little befuddled as to why my earnings dropp 75% in 4 days after the new rollout of the design. Anyone else drop like that? Earnings went way up for 6 months then plummeted after new roll out. Thanks
