Advanced Tips for Google Images Search

Updated on August 26, 2014

Google keep records of all the available images in Internet. Interestingly  Google Bot  cannot recognize images, so far Google Bot is not capable of reading images or its has image recognition system . Instead Google crawls the file name of the image or any link text pointing to an image and make a decision about the type of image based of the texts associated with the image. Google also use very sophisticated algorithm to filter out all the duplicate contents so as you can view the most relevant images for free. This is why when you put any picture on any of your article you need to write the name of that picture, because it will certainly give you some extra traffic generated by people searching Google free images.

How to use Google Image Search:

Despite having Google images search options many people still search in Google’s main page for finding images. For getting Google images free anyone can use image search option by clicking the image option of the top-left side on Google’s homepage. Otherwise you can visit directly Google’s image search engine-Google Image

After the lunch of Google image search in 2001, Google has been updating the features and making image search more efficient. Now, there image searching is much more advanced with many useful features than it was few years back.

Safe Search Filter

If you want no pornographic images or any type of offensive content to show up while searching, you can use safe search option. To set safe searching option you need to go Google preference page. To enter the preference page, click the “search settings” option at the top-right part of the Google main page and then a new window will open with a number of options.  In the middle of this new page you will find an option called “safe search filtering”.  You customize your filter as per your preference of image searches. After customizing click “save preference” button at the right-bottom or the top-right side of the page.

Below the “safe search” option you will find another option called the number of results. With this option you can set how many images you want to see in the search result at a time, you can set the value form 10-100. But 10 image searches per page will give you the fastest search result

Refine image search

When you get a result of a specific image, you will also have the option to customize the searched results. To filter or customize the results, take a look at the left-side of the results, here you can set “any size”, “any type” and “any color” to filter your results. If you looking for large size images, you need to click the “large” text in the “any size” option. Similarly, Google image can show you which type of image your are looking for. For example, one may need clipart or line drawing for an image, just click “clipart” or “line drawing”. This is an extraordinary feature of Google image, it simply makes images search much more efficient than any ordinary searches without any option setting.

You want to filter and customize the image search results you see, use the options along the side of the results page. For instance, you can choose to just see black and white photos of a certain size. Use the links below to learn about search tools specific to Google Images

Secret Google Tip Improves Image Search

Advanced Image Search

The most interesting and useful image search is Google Advance Image Search option. Here you can search any image by specifying the size, type, aspect ratio, coloration, or even by naming a specific domain. The most useful advanced search option to me is the “usage rights” option- this will tell you if an image is labeled for reuse or it is licensed.

Search Options &Tools

On the left side of your search page, there are a number of search customization options when remains unexplored to many Google users. To see more search options click more just below the “image” text on the left side of your search page. Keep exploring not only Google image searchers but other options as well. There is no limit on what you won’t find in Google Searches-it seems to me that the entire world lives in Google.

Finally, spend less time in searching Google by learning advanced searches
