Butterfly Soul Whispers (Deb Morris)

I love to write about things that inspire me, or cause me to think about why it is so. I love long walks on a beautiful sunlit beach, feeling the sand between my toes and the rush of the waves as the water flows over my feet. I love moonlit nights and sipping wine while listening to the soothing sounds of a gently strummed guitar. I love books and I love to read. I love learning about the world of philosophy. I love the gleeful laughter of a child as they learn about their world. I love the adoring look my adult children give to their children. I love the soft caress of the breeze from the ocean. I love the sounds of the birds that sing in the early morning light. I love mornings as the sun appears over the horizon. I love an orange sunset, as the warm glow fades into the night. I love the taste and smell of a well-brewed coffee, while sitting in a bookstore among awe-inspiring authors. I love walking beneath the branches of the eternal oak tree, and hearing the sound of the breeze rustle through the leaves. I love walking on a bridge over a delicate, bubbling brooke. I love dancing around a campfire in a soft flowing gown. I love... LOVE.

I am studying for a Bachelor of Arts degree in Philosophy and while it does not make me an expert on anything, it has inspired me to be more. Maybe in the process, I can inspire others in the same way. It's been a grand journey of learning to date, and I am sure it will continue until I graduate next year. And then until I leave this world.

As far as writing is concerned, I just love to write about things on my mind. I often receive ideas as I prepare for work each day or when driving to work. To be honest, it occurred to me only recently that I should be writing about these ideas. In the past the idea came... and went without my understanding that I needed to grasp it and run with it.

So here I am. Taking notice.

My wish for you on this glorious day, is that whatever you are doing, whether you are going to a job that is a means to an end, or you are washing the dog, do it with love in your heart and a spring in your step. Life is acceptance of what is.

  How do we escape the everyday grind of doing-ness? From the time our eyes flutter open to reveal a new day has begun, til the time our weary head once again feels the soft and welcoming pillow at the end of the day, our mind is cluttered with thoughts.
