When I went to graduate school, I planned to teach college. After teaching university classes and pursuing dual masters' degrees in the Humanities, I became disillusioned with academia and moved into the business world. But I have missed having a writing outlet.
I love reading (especially fantasy and science fiction), and movies (usually like independent films more than mainstream ones). My favorite TV shows are The Daily Show with Jon Stewart, Real Time with Bill Maher--regular news tends to depress me :-(. I also love Dexter and Homeland.
I like to bellydance, play the dombek (drum), take long walks on beautiful and even somewhat rainy days. I've been studying and practicing Soto Zen Buddhism for over a year. WOW. It's amazing what you can see when you really start looking at the world around you...
And I love storms, especially the ones that rage so much outside that they eclipse the ones inside you. And then you merge with them, and then... ohhh yeahhh
