Charles W. Davis Jr. born Baltimore Maryland in 1954, joined the Army after high school staying till retirement in 1993, his 20 year service had him living in different parts of the United States as well as Korea and Germany.His military duties revolved around communications and electronics. During his tours he was an instructor at the Army Signal School an accredited technical college and was a technical writer. He had improved his skills in photography which was a hobby since childhood and started writing magazine articles to go with his photographs to increase their saleability. While still in the Army he also open a small travel consultant business and another time an electronic repair firm. After his retirement from the Army, he worked briefly as a Photographer for a company that did school photography and glamor photographs. It was meant as a transitional job something that was enjoyable until such time as a new position was found. He found a position in a small but fast growing company American Online which transitioned from a small online service to the first giant internet company. his positions with AOL took him to Germany again for a year and about three years in the Philippines.when he was stateside with AOL he also had some sideline items including being a professor at a small community college teaching electronics and an instructor at a adult education program teaching travel topics. In 2001 he retired again leaving AOL and lived on his farm that breed racehorses. Having his business effected by the events of 911, he decided that he need to reinvent his life again, Having enjoyed the lifestyle and people of the Philippines while living there, that became his choice to relocate to. He moved to the Philippines in 2003 to enjoy a early retirement. His love for photography, travel and scuba diving led to his first book, The Subic Bay Travel and Dive Guide , which in turn led to the opening of a travel and tour company. Currently he spends his time in semi-retirement, balancing managing his business and different advisory positions with his hobbies and travels.
