Relevancy facilitator. Ministry student, mentor, media pro. All things writer, UX nerd, Lean thinker.

Hi, my name is Serenity, and I've been an author, editor, designer, and marketer of many things fiction and non, through a decade of various communications-driven roles in the publishing field. In 2012, I left the media business to pursue a new direction in life, and I've never been happier with a decision. In May of 2013, I began as a full-time student of Indiana Wesleyan University's online Bachelor of Science in Biblical Studies program, with intent to deepen my personal involvement in Christian outreach here in my local Brookings community. Now I'm working to complete requirements for ordination through Oklahoma Wesleyan University while pursuing an M.A. in Organizational Leadership through IWU, with an eye toward unique intersections of business and ministry in my church, community, workplace, and home.

Professionally, I work full-time as a technical writer at the corporate headquarters of Daktronics, Inc., supporting a meaningful, values-driven Fortune 500 company that positively impacts personal development opportunities throughout the Midwest region while extending the communication capabilities of the global community.

As a registered Ministerial Student with the Northwest District of The Wesleyan Church, I enjoy supporting GracePoint Wesleyan Church ministries as a volunteer leader, with a special emphasis on jail/prison outreach and addiction recovery. I love making community connections through growth group studies, personal correspondence, and one-on-one relationship building. Service is a passion for my husband as well, and together, we are active with several local organizations that give back to Brookings in creative ways. This is life, and I love it.
