About me:

My name is Karen and I live in a suburb of Columbus, OH. I grew up in Dayton, OH, as the youngest of 9 children. I attended parochial schools K-12. I attended the University of Oklahoma on a full athletic scholarship and graduated with a BS in Zoology (premed).

Starting as a laboratory technologist, I then switched fields to Information Technology. I ultimately retired when my first set of twins were born in 2005. Currently, I am a stay at home mom with 5 kids, 2 sets of twins (17 months apart) and another son 3 years younger. We have an amazing time, funny stories and are learning along the way.

After joining Hubpages in March of 2012, I have come to appreciate this amazing and supportive community. My niche includes family, fitness and Catholicism, but I enjoy the freedom to write on other topics that inspire me. I was recently accepted into the apprentice program. What an amazing opportunity to have a more formal environment to improve my writing. I am so excited!
