Prospectboy interviews beingwell
The HubPages experience as seen through the eyes of a health Hubber from Bankgok
Hello there, and thanks for doing this interview. Just to get things started, could you tell me how you came up with your username on HubPages?
My penname was given to me by a friend. I asked him what name is fitting for me, if I am to make a name for myself online. He said "beingwell" should be good. We were in the same line of business then, catering to wellness and nutrition. So, I used beingwell in most of my writing sites, including HubPages. I do enjoy writing about health and wellness, anyway. For this, I'm very thankful to my friend. He gave me such an inspiring name.
I noticed on your profile that you are from Bankgok. How would you describe Bangkok for those of us who've never vistited?
Bangkok is a very lively place. There are many sites to see, morning and evening time. The people are very kind, too. What I enjoy here most though is the food! You'd have to love Thai food. Who wouldn't want a heaping serving of Pad Thai with shrimps and nuts? And for just one dollar, too!
According to your profile, you've been a member of HubPages for 22 months now. How did you end up writing for HubPages?
I just read an article from a HubPages writer. I guess, this inspired me to sign up for an account. It took me several months after though, before I really wrote for this site.
Many of your Hubs deal with health, nutrition, and weight loss. Where does your passion for writing on these topics come from?
I just love taking care of my health and I want to share my weight loss journey to others. Also, I want to know the nutritional values in foods that I eat. I research them and like to impart the knowledge to others.
You recently completed the "30 Hubs in 30 days challenge". I noticed that you completed the challenge a week or two before the 30 days came. How was that experience for you, and how were you motivated enough to complete it before 30 days arrived?
Oh yes! This is one of the reasons why I love HubPages so much. This challenge has helped me improve my writing and earnings with the site. My earnings jumped to 2 digits for the past 2 months. I'm hoping to earn more from this site in the future.
Every writer has a different style of writing. Some prefer writing articles that require extensive research, while others prefer writing articles off the top of their heads. How would you describe your writing style, and do you incorporate both research and your thoughts into your writing?
It depends on the topic. If I'm writing about nutritional profile of a certain food, of course I need to research. I need to share what values we can have from eating certain foods and I share my own thoughts into the article to make it engaging. If it's about weight loss, however, I can simply share my own experience into the article to at least convey to others that weight loss isn't that difficult... if we put our minds into it.
Besides your writings on HubPages, you also manage several blogs. How are you able to balance writing on sites like HubPages, along with managing more than one blog?
I make a schedule. That's it. I make it a point to write articles for my blogs, promote them, and socialize with other bloggers. In terms of writing Hubs, it's the same thing. If I make a sched, I try my best to really stick to it. Otherwise, what's the point, right?
Finally, being that you are somewhat of a veteran on HubPages, what advice would you give to any newcomers, or people who are thinking of joining the site?
Oh my! I don't consider myself a veteran. In fact, I believe that I am still a newbie in HubPages. I still have a lot to learn in this site. Every writer has something to share with other writers. I welcome those ideas and apply them in my own Hubs. We should always be open to suggestions and criticisms to grow as a writer and as a person. That's my advise to the newly signed members. Learn to learn; and apply these learning. Soon you're cents will grow to a dollar; from a dollar to several dollars; and to hundreds of dollars. Just be patient, I guess.
Well those are all the questions I have for you. Thanks for taking out the time to do this interview. Any last words?
Just thanks!
