The HubPages Quarterly Feedback Survey

Happy Wednesday, friends! I hope you enjoyed a glorious holiday season this year. :)

We've got a bit of business to get out of the way this week; it's time for the Quarterly Feedback Survey. Please take a moment to respond. It should only take about 30 seconds. The survey results are a huge help to us in determining the level of general satisfaction with HubPages, and they also help us to see how we can improve and give you a better experience. Thanks for your time!

The Ottoman Empire and the Christendom

The Ottoman Empire was one of the largest Islamic Empires to date. It expanded from the Red Sea to present day Algeria to the borders of Austria-Hungry, and in its vast territory Islam encountered many different types of people (Ahmad 20). On the western front of the empire the Ottomans conquered Byzantine, Venetian, and other European territories. Each of these areas were predominately Christian previous to Ottoman rule and were able to remain so during. For the purpose of this paper, Ottoman i

Insights from a Crochet Lover and Professional Chef

You've been a member of HubPages for about 6 months. How did you hear about us and what made you decide to join?

I actually heard about HubPages when it first opened - I was 17 or 18 at the time - and then, I'm sad to say, promptly forgot about it. It wasn't until this year that I was reminded again that I'd intended to join about six or seven years ago, and signed up straight away!

You've written a number of crochet Hubs. What is your favorite crochet project that you've worked on?

I made a friend of mine a huge, wing-shaped blanket for Christmas this year, and I'm really proud of some of the techniques I came up with to make it and the sheer number of hours I spent on it - I'm not usually patient enough for blankets.

You've recently created some killer cooking Hubs. When and how did you develop an interest in cooking?

I'm actually a trained pastry chef, as of the end of last year! Must update that bio. I'm even starting a course in Food Science and Nutrition this year when school starts back in February. The slightly pathetic part is that I got into it from watching the Food Channel as background noise when insomnia is keeping me up (obviously since I'm answering these questions at 4am, this is still a problem). It's since become something like a calling for me.

Your profile mentions that you have multicolored hair. What color are you rocking right now? How often do you change colors?

You've just caught me changing to bright pink! I have very short hair (less than an inch long, usually) so once I've cut all the color out I switch to a new one. I've gone pink a couple of times now, it's such a cheerful color.

If you had to pick a favorite out of all your Hubs, which one would it be?

I'm actually really fond of my ear stretching how-to. When I was first stretching my ears there were no guides like that - I'm sure there are better ones now - and I made a lot of mistakes. I like to think it's saving someone else from making them, or panicking when they do.

What do you plan to write about next?

So very many things! I've been meaning to add to the Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual and Transgender category, and I'm obviously going to have a lot to say about food and nutrition when school starts again.
