Time to Upgrade Google Analytics to Universal Analytics

Google's Improved Insight Service

Happy Wednesday, Hubbers! As some of you may have read in Marina's latest Blog post, it's time to upgrade your Google Analytics to Universal Analytics. UA is Google's latest iteration of their popular Analytics platform that allows users to view traffic data and trends about their websites. If you already have an Analytics account, make sure you follow the Blog's instructions for upgrading. If you're unsure which version of Analytics you're using, you can check here to find out. If you're using the old version, make sure you upgrade by August 20th, 2014 (next month). After August 20th, the old Analytics will no longer be supported on HubPages.

NOTE: Analytics is completely optional. If you don't already use it, you don't have to, and you don't need to worry about upgrading.

Do New Analytics Users Need to Upgrade?

Decided to use Analytics for the first time? Awesome! Universal Analytics is the default for new users. If this is the first time you're using Analytics, you'll just need to sign up. You won't also have to upgrade. Some new users have reported seeing a message in Analytics suggesting they upgrade after creating a brand new account, so it looks like all users (including those who already have UA) are seeing that message. If you are indeed signing up for the first time, you can ignore that warning (or you can always check to be sure that you are indeed using UA and not the old GA if you feel more comfortable doing so).

For more information on upgrading and signing up for Universal Analytics, check out the Blog:
