Ever thought about writing a health Hub?

Tips for Writing Awesome Health Hubs

Help Others by Providing Accurate and Useful Health Information

Happy Wednesday, friends! This week I'd like to focus on health Hubs and what makes them great (or not-so-great). Each of has a body, so most of us have experienced health issues of some sort at some time in our lives. That personal experience is useful as a source for Hub material, so here are a few tips to help ensure your health Hubs are the best they can be:

  • Write about medical conditions you have authority in or experience with. Are you a doctor, nurse, nurse's assistant, specialist, or other medical professional? Have you or a loved one experienced this health issue first hand? If none of these apply, you probably shouldn't be writing about it.
  • Document your experience with pictures. Include your own media wherever possible. Document your recovery (if you're a patient), include X-rays, before and after photos of affected areas, and other relevant visual aides.
  • Provide specific details. How many days did your recovery take? What type of lifestyle changes does your ongoing condition demand? How long did your surgery take? What relative pain levels did you experience throughout the experience?
  • Always give accurate and up-to-date advice. Remember that inaccurate or incorrect medical advice can cause real harm to your readers. Only include advice you've been given by a licensed medical professional or that you can verify and provide peer-reviewed citations for.
