What to expect from your author bio.

Now Available: About the Author Biographies

Show Off Your Expertise on Hubs

I'm very pleased to announce that Hubbers now have access to an exciting new feature; About the Author Biographies! About the Author Bios are a great way to highlight your skills and demonstrate your expertise and enthusiasm across any number of related niche Hubs. Unlike the bio in your profile, About the Author Bios will show up on the Hubs themselves. Here's how this new feature works:

  • You can customize up to 25 separate Bios.
  • You can reuse the same Bio on closely related Hubs (for example, you may want to reuse the same Bio on all your Hubs about crocheting).
  • Bios must be between 80 and 140 characters long.
  • You can add and edit Bios in the HubTool as well as from your My Account page where they have a separate tab.

Check out Marina's announcement Blog post for more details. :)

Pro Tips

Targeted niche bios are the best!

What to Write in Your Author Bio

In order to make sure Author Bios are used correctly and consistently across HubPages, we recommend following these rules when creating new bios:

  • No spamming in the Bios. Links and references to outside websites or services are not permitted. Hubs with spammy Bios will be moderated.
  • Make sure your Bios are all about subjects that are closely related to the Hubs they appear on.
  • Be very specific about your qualifications and experience in your Bios rather than generic.
  • Use proper grammar and write in full sentences.
  • Be honest (no claiming expertise you don't actually have).

See the guidelines in Marina's Blog post for more details:
