What do you think she's feeling?

Drawing Motivation from Emotions

Using Feelings to Inspire New Hubs

Happy Wednesday, Hubbers! Today I'd like to share a fun technique I discovered recently for writing new Hubs. If you're experiencing writer's block or just want to try something new, this can be a great way to channel your creative energy into a useful and interesting Hub. Here's how it works:

  1. Think about what you're feeling right now. Are you calm, tired, excited, nostalgic, bored, worried, happy? Figure out your strongest emotion and hold that thought.
  2. Pick an art form. Any form of artistic expression will do; poetry, novels, paintings, quotes, films songs, etc.
  3. Assemble a top 5 or 10 list of media from your chosen genre that reflect your feeling, e.g. "Best Sad Poems," "Top 10 Wistful Songs," "5 Paintings Expressing Anticipation." Discuss why you think each piece is an embodiment of the emotion in question and why it deserves a slot on the list.
