All of HubPages Returning to Main Domain
Together Again, Just Like Old Times!
I have some big news today, friends! Starting very soon all of HubPages is being migrated back to the HubPages.com domain. What does this mean? Instead of username.hubpages.com, your Hubs and profile will now live directly on HubPages.com, just like in the early days of the site. Q&A and Forums will also live on the HubPages.com domain under their main categories.
Why are you moving everything back to HubPages.com? We are making this change for several reasons. First, subdomains are no longer working the way we originally hoped (for Google to treat each author by his/her individual merits). Second, since we have made, and continue to make, many improvements to HubPages, we want to signal that Hubs are held to common policies and a unified standard of quality. Third, the URLs that display in search will look much more clear and give a better idea of what the content is about this way.
Will my old links redirect so I don't lose traffic? Yep, everything will be 301 redirected, though it's still a good idea to update as many external links as you can.
What do Hubbers need to do? These changes will take place automatically, so you don't need to do anything at all. If you would like to help, you can update your off-HubPages links to your Hubs and profile when we make the change and report any bugs you notice either in a new Forum thread or in
Paul Edmondson's announcement thread.
