Pro Tips

Holidappy Submission Tips

Holidappy is always looking for new and original articles. However, there are certain aspects that our editors look for when accepting new articles. Follow these tips for the dos and don'ts!

What Holidappy Looks For:

  • Specificity and Details: Personal experience will set you apart from other writers. We strongly encourage our writers to include why you like a particular recipe, what'd you did differently in your craft, or what was missing from your wedding that you would have loved. Personal anecdotes are a great touch that won't go unnoticed by our editors.
  • Personal Experience: High-quality articles tend to be written from the perspective of someone who has actually made the craft, put together the recipe, or participated in a certain event. We want our writers to write from a place of knowledge and experience.
  • Original and High-Quality Photos: We love articles that contain high-quality images that are taken by the author. If not directly taken by the author themselves, it helps if the photos are accurately sourced and not pixelated. The main reason we love these personal photos is that your expertise is shown.

What to Avoid:

  • Uninformed Promotion: Products should only be included if you have personal experience with them. We never want our authors to recommend something they haven't tried because it ruins credibility.
  • Blurry or Pixelated Photos: Photos are a crucial aspect of successful articles. Avoid inserting any photos that are small, blurry, fuzzy, or distorted.
  • Thin or Vague Content: Articles should be in-depth and specific. If an article is vague and doesn't go into detail, it is unlikely to be useful or entertaining to readers.

Happy submitting!
