Summer 2023 Travel Destinations

Have you locked your plans in yet?

Now that summer has arrived in the northern hemisphere, kids are out of school, and graduation season has finished, it's finally time to take a vacation. It's a moment everyone looks forward to, and maybe you've already gotten plans for the next few months together, but if you haven't, here are some destinations that we've read are among the best to consider this year.

CNN Travel recommends visiting Poland for both its historical beauty and the role the country has played in aiding Ukrainian refugees, as well as Rwanda for attractions like Volcanoes National Park. The park opened a several thousand square foot gorilla campus last year named after American entertainer Ellen DeGeneres that provides hiking, exhibits, and a VR "encounters" experience.

Travel + Leisure, on the other hand, ranks coastal Uraguay as one of the best destinations for beaches, particularly when coupled with the country's cuisine and growing arts scene. They also mention Copenhagen, the capital of Denmark, which was named the official UNESCO World Capital of Architecture this year and will showcase everything from parks to skyscrapers and give travelers a look at what the future of an urban environment could look like.

With all that said, remember that WanderWisdom has article after article on travel advice for locations all over the world. If you're overwhelmed with what you need for your trip, Ellen Gregory recently shared how she stays organized and why Everyone Should Have a Travel Box, and Janis Masyk-Jackson shared her takes on  The Best Smaller Amusement Parks in California for Kids. And if you're heading to Japan by chance, here are 9 Words and Phrases Travelers to Japan Need to Know, provided for you by Anupama.

Remember to take a lot of photos on your trips this summer and think about any advice you'd give other travelers. Then you can share it with the HubPages community on WanderWisdom!

The Importance of Updating Articles

Writing and publishing on HubPages means always being able to update and change your articles, and it's very important that you take advantage of this function. Even though articles are supposed to be evergreen (meaning the topic isn't time sensitive and will be relevant for the foreseeable future), it doesn't mean that the information cannot change.

For instance, if you wrote an article about visiting the Louvre back in 2014, there's a good chance that ticket prices, visiting hours, or exhibits may have changed. Or, maybe you published on DenGarden about a DIY project you completed but realized that a different tool you've started using works better than what you originally wrote about. These are both situations where it is worthwhile to go in and edit your article.

It's also important to check in on your pieces to make sure videos haven't broken, or links haven't been replaced with content irrelevant to your piece. Going in and making updates also tells Google that the content is fresh, and thus, the search engine is more likely to bring up your piece in results.

Throughout the calendar year, the editing team at HubPages works to make sure all articles on each network site are updated to align as closely with our network site standards as possible. If you prefer to make your own updates make sure you stay up-to-date with our announcements regarding changes to things like top image size, header case, and interlinking.
