Just in Time for Spring: Upcoming Dengarden Edits

With just a few weeks of winter left before the spring, we certainly can't wait for warmer weather and longer evenings. So, in anticipation of the season—one that often inspires taking on long-debated home projects and sprucing up or revitalizing your garden—the HubPages editing team will be working on a series of articles on Dengarden. Think of it as a digital version of spring cleaning!

We'll be paying special attention to ensuring that article's content satisfies what the title claims to cover and that the content is optimized based on previous search queries. We'll be fine tuning for SEO best practices as well.

As always, we encourage you to review your articles and make sure they have a high level of EEAT (Experience, Expertise, Authoritativeness, and Trustworthiness), done in an effort to have Google rank them high in search results.

Tips for updates you could make include looking into the following:

  • Are all the products you've linked and endorsed still available? Have the prices changed? Is there a new version that you think is a better option?
  • Have you expanded your writing portfolio but not updated your profile bio? Take the time to fill in some information about where your work is published, why you write on the topics you do, and a bit about your education and professional background. Google wants to know this information, as do your readers!
  • Double-check the media, meaning ensure that videos are still able to be viewed and that top images are both landscape orientation and free of text overlay.

These suggestions, as well as the editing team's work, should help our content perform better as Google's new core update is implemented over the next few weeks. More on that next!

What to Know About (Yet Another) Google Update

Yesterday, Google announced their March 2024 core update, meant to focus on the quality of Search and article/website helpfulness as well as combat spam and click-bait articles. This is their first core update for the year.

These updates are expected to roll out through the duration of March, so changes will not be apparent for a few weeks or even months. The last time Google rolled out a core update was in November of 2023, and it took an entire month to implement the updates.

Though our writing, formatting, and editing practices here at HubPages will stay the same, the editing team always keeps tabs on updates and announcements from Google. We try to anticipate search algorithm changes and then fine-tune our editing and content curation standards accordingly. This is all done to keep our network sites and articles ranking high!

Here are a few other articles and bites from Google you can check out if you're interested in reading more on the nitty-gritty of the March core update.
