*WOOF* (Hello)

Greetings and Salutations to all of you on Hub Pages!

My name is Bridgette, aka “Polka Dot Butt”. I am a Dalmatian Retriever Mix with a hint of pit. My Mommy says that the pit portion is identifiable when I get focused on a lizard and I don’t listen to her.

I’m not quite sure what she’s..huh?...what?? Lizard??? ......talking about.

I Love My New Mommy

Anyways, Mommy went shopping (no doubt for a treat for me) and I thought I would get on the computer and say hello to you and your “Fur Children” before she comes back.

My mommy is the best mommy in the whole world, but that doesn't stop her from being annoyed with me when I play with her computer or find that perfect spot between her bed pillows right after she puts her fresh laundered linens on them! Ohhhhh they smell so good and I just can't help myself. She thinks I need to be doing dog-like things..like chasing lizards for instance, not basking in the lavender scent of cotton!

My mommy adopted me this past June when my last mommy and daddy decided they didn't want me any longer. I didn't understand why they felt like that. I don’t think I did anything bad. But, just the same, they took my step brother “Harley” with them when they moved away and left me behind.

That’s when my new mommy showed up and said she would take care of me and love me.

I am so happy with my new mommy. She plays with me, feeds me good food, let’s me do “morning cuddles” with her and takes me “bye bye” every time she goes somewhere in the car. (Except this time as she went shopping..no doubt for a treat for me)

Taking Care of Mommy

When mommy doesn't feel good…. I lick her! I lick her face, her hands and even her toes. This is my way of taking care of her hurt or pain. I think I make her feel a little better, because she always smiles at me.

When mommy speaks to me, I listen very carefully. I sit right in front of her and stare at her. I do know about 10 words, however half the time I’m not quite sure what she is saying, but as long as I wag my tail and smile..she’s happy!

A Doggie's Concern

I do have to discuss one little "eensy weensy" thing.

Can anyone explain to me why mommies have this overwhelming need to dress us up in clothes and costumes???!?!

I mean really! I know she means well..but you try walking down the street with a big honkin’ Jack-o-lantern on your back! Before she got the pumpkin sweater, she put me in a jester collar with bells on it.

I hid it outside in the bushes…..shhhhhhh!!! Don’t tell her!

Ok, Ok, I know I look adorable.. but my fur friends tend to tease me a bit when they see me trying to look cool and sophisticated and my sweater looks like I just broke out of doggie prison!

Aside from the clothes and the dog talk, I can’t complain. No one has ever loved me this much. I plan on sticking around for a very long time so I can return the love to my mommy.

Update on the Clothes: I have to admit, I do have my favorite clothes to wear: Bandannas, hats, parkas, and sometimes sunglasses!

Till we meet again!

Progress Update- May 2013

Hi everyone!

I just wanted to let you in on my progress with my new home. We moved back up to the mountains last summer and I experienced my first SNOW! At first I didn't know what to do with it. It made my paws all cold and numb at first, then I discovered that you can run and jump in it! I even did a little hunting, but the rabbits are a teeny bit faster then me.

One of the coolest things I discovered is that you can make a ball out the snow, and not only that, when mommy throws it at me and I catch it.. I also discovered I can EAT IT!

I am so happy to announce a new addition to our pack .....GRANDMA!!!! Most of you know her on Hubpages as vocalcoach

I LOVE HER sooooo much! She takes me on walks, feeds me "extra" cookies, looks the other way when I burp (from both ends) and even let's me sleep with her on occasion.
