Selecting Your Power Animal Medicine Cards

Updated on April 11, 2014

From the previous hub you learned that there are 53 animal totem cards and you can choose seven for your animal medicine however nine are assigned to an individual called power totems.

Here is a very simple exercise that can help you choose your own power totem cards. To choose them you will learn to do your first spread. Later you will learn the different types of spread when you seek direct medicine for specific situations.

Write on a paper these directions starting with the east direction first in the following order east, south, west, north, above, below, within an arc

Turn down the 53 cards face down spread out like a fan you may use two rows.

Quite yourself and ask your silent spirit guide to help you. Pick up one card at time and place them on the marked areas beginning from left to right put the first one on the east. If you do not have the cards just get 44 pieces of paper and write the name and number of each animal on a separate piece. You must select 7 cards. Take your time and turn over each card and write down its names beside the corresponding direction. Are you surprise. The blank cards you will get the name of the animal in a dream. But when you use them put one at each side of the seven cards before and after to make up your power nine totem cards. When you have selected them do not do it over again.

I know you are bursting to know the meanings of the cards you have chosen but you will just have to be patient and wait on till they are published. Or better yet why not purchase the book on this page called medicine cards. The meaning of your card may take a while to come up there are 44 of them. You will still need to learn more about this before you can use animal medicine. Look out for the next hub.
