Have you ever lost your dog?
I lost my dog today whilst walking through the park, it was so scary. After 50 minutes of hardcore screaming (and losing my voice) I got a call from my neighbour saying my dog was sitting at my door. I was so proud, he found his way home!
Yes, I lost my dog when he jumped out of our house compound and disappear without a trace. It was sad, such a big dog, can't even find his body either. Maybe caught by the dog compound. He even had a dog license!
As a child, we lost two of our dogs for a short time. Fortunately, both were found safe. I have never lost my dogs as an adult. I also make sure my dogs wear collar tags with the phone number(s) and address, and my dogs are all microchipped. Losing a dog is a terribly scary and sad event. I hope never to have to go through it.
Yes, one of our Goldens got away from us and ran into traffic. My husband went running after him right through "rush hour" in our small town. He finally cornere him in someone's yard while he was taking a poop. It was so scary. He is now passed and we still talk about that day. I'm so glad your baby found his way home.
Yes my dog ghost loved to run away from home nothing we did would keep him in. One time he even eat though our back door while we where at work. he has even broken off chain . He always come home at night like clock work. he well take off about every two weeks or so. We call him the neighborhood dog because everyone knows him now and takes care of him. I can not tell you how many time I'll get stopped while shopping or checking my mail and someone will say ghost came and played with the kids I feed him dinner and he should be home soon. Even the dog catcher brings him home now instead of the pound. The first time he got out was scarey and cried for along time after we cloud not find him. now it is normal.
We didn't lose our dog, but our cat went gallivanting one evening. We don't let them out at night, only during the day. By 9pm I was frantic. By 11pm I'd made the posters to be hung around town the next day. By 2am I was praying and on my knees, crying and hoping that something hadn't happened to her. She came in just past 2h30 like a naughty teenager creeping in. I know how you feel - your world literally stops. I can't imagine life without our cats - they are our babies. I'm so glad you found your dog....or rather that he found you!
My dog almost escaped a few months ago while I was mowing the lawn. I had left our garage door open and the wind actually blew the door to our house open (it doesn't stay shut very well) and my dog got out. I was in the backyard mowing near the fence when I heard a little jingle jangle and I thought, uh oh. Sure enough, there was my little dog. Unfortunately our backyard isn't fenced in and when I told her to "sit," she took that to mean run. She darted across three lawns before getting distracted enough by some lawn ornaments for me to catch her. I was so panicked and I definitely learned my lesson about leaving the garage door open while I'm mowing.

Have you ever found a lost animal? What did you do?Hubby and found this soaking wet lost kitten while on our walk today. We thought he might have been hurt -- just cowering in a puddle in the middle of a parking lot next to a busy street. He had a collar with a bell. But no ID tag. Seemed awfully...

My scariest thing was discovering my down syndrome son had just swallowed a pinball and a dime. I immediately called 911. He ended up being okay, and has never done it since. That was when he was younger. It was one of the most scary moments he put me through.

Before you got your dog, did you worry about leaving them home alone?Do your dogs have trouble being by themselves all day? What about puppies? Do they need constant attention while they are still babies, or can you leave them alone all day while you have to work?
