   about how much do baby sloths cost?
   
   i was just interested in price and the only one i found that sells sloths if 5000.00 is that the norm for these beautiful creatures?

   Where do you live? As beautiful, cute and amazing these creatures they really are not designed to be house pets. If you are in a Western Country its really not a good idea to promote the trade of Sloths. I believe they dont last long out of the wild as they are susceptible to disease like Slow Loris.
   
   You need to check the laws of where you live. I really dont think you should own one though. Go visit the Sloth sanctuary in Costa Rica and volunteer there instead. You would be doing Sloths a much bigger favour, and you would get to look after lots of them.
   
   Sorry about the negativity but they are endangered in some species.

   For a start it is illegal to own one...so I wouldn't advise buying one. They are an endangered species, and the exotic animal trade is a very cruel one, which is connected to the illegal drugs trade. So you purchasing a sloth or most other exotics could easily result in you furthering the illicit narcotics business in Asia and South America.
   
   Sloths are STOLEN from their mothers, and to do so the mother is shot, which as I'm sure you appreciate, only exascerbates the situation of species endangerment.
   
   If you proceed to purchase one, you must understand what consequences this has on the future success of the species and the criminal activity involved.

      Well if the mother is shot then wouldn't that make you want to save the baby and in the states of Alabama, Idaho, Nevada, North Carolina, Ohio, South Carolina, West Virginia, And Wisconsin you are allowed to have one WITHOUT a Permit And many with 1.

      Puppies kittens and other animals we keep as pets are also "stolen" from there mothers so I don't see how you could get upset for a sloth being taken if your ok with it happening to other animals. And no its not illegal to own a sloth in most states

   sloths aren't illegal to have as a pet anymore,i have wanted a pet sloth since i was 5 years old. They cost around $7000 and you dont need a licence to get one, i hope that helped.
