How can I get my rats to chew on wood blocks?
I have two male rats who are about 3 months old. They have no interest in chewing anything, least of all wood blocks. I have tried putting yoghurt, etc on the wood blocks, but they usually just lick it off. While I sometimes give them cat biscuits and dried pasta to help keep their teeth down, I'm unsure if just this will suffice?
Maybe if you soak the block of wood in something with flavor overnight? I don't know for certain if it would work, but its worth a shot.. Good luck!
They will chew on them when they want to. There's no need to force them to chew on the wood blocks. Keep offering the wood blocks and chews, but if you use a good rat block for their diet, that will definitely suffice. I like Mazuri rat block, as it's the healthiest rat food.
