How fast can a dog run?

I once chased a small pomeranian for a half hour. He ran fast enough to convince me that I am not more evolved than dogs. After I finally caught the dog... I started thinking about all the OTHER things animals have that humans don't have.
Sharp teeth
warm fur
camoflauge coloring
fierce claws
Scales or tough skin
large litters
short infancy
night vision
good hearing
sense of smell ............ and lots of other examples too.
That's one of the reasons I believe God created each creature as He wanted it. If we were "The most highly evolved", I think humans would look more like the Creature From the Black Lagoon.. as pictured here.
