Which bird puts blind snakes in its nest while raising its chicks?
Some Eastern Screech Owls have been known to put small blind snakes from deep under ground into their nests. The most logical explanation as to why they bring these snakes to their nests is for the function of pest control. The snakes do not disturb the chicks, but they consume potentially dangerous insects which may carry parasites.
