My mare is 12 months and still no milk or teats help beginning to think its a phantom
The only time that happened to me my mare had a twin "dummy" foal. She gave birth to a healthy foal then delivered the other fetus which to the vet's estimate had died at about 6 months gestation. My mare had gone 11 months. My vet was sure I have the date wrong when he checked her. He told me she had two more weeks to go. So, we went on our vacation only to be called home in two days. Everything went fine, no complications.
Now vets can do ultra sounds and see it you have twins or a situation like mine.
Has the pregnancy been confirmed by ultrasound? It's not uncommon for mares to enter into a false pregnancy. In any case, it would be prudent to have her checked by a vet. Good luck and let us know the outcome!

I am a new hubber, still trying to srt everything out in my old brain. I have been involved with horses for thirty-plus years. Now I have aged out of a lot of my activities. I still teach a few lessons and have an old Arabian mare, Miramar, who is trying to out-live me. We're going to celebrate her...
