I have found that the dogs are more likely to imitate the cats, dogs are naturally pack animals.Cats more accept the dogs, but they will never consider themselves anything but independent. Cats are predators, dogs are part of a group. I love my cats, but they are predators by nature. Although very cute and cuddly ones.

Thanks for the insight.  Now, that I think of it, my Rott does copy cat behavior.  He rubs my legs like a cat, cleans the cats - because they all clean each other, and he trys to use their litter...which I constantly correct him for.  But, the main cat has been lifting a leg - like the dog - patroling like the dog.  So, I wondered what other people have noticed.
