Fix your dog; neutered/spayed dogs are much less likely to hump. As humping can also be a dominance signal, consider enrolling your dog in an obedience class.

If your dog humps guests when they arrive, you can prevent the behavior by training your dog to perform a different behavior when guests arrive at the house - I'm currently training my dog to sit quietly on a mat so she won't jump up at guests.

Another option would be to keep your dog in a seperate room while guests are at your house; crate training would be useful if you decide on this.

    Haha. Funny question, funny picture.

My dog only started doing this after she was spayed. I think her hormone levels changed. She became a little more aggressive too. To get her to stop we just sort of stare at her to show dominance and she quits, but I don't know how to make a dog not hump in the first place, especially with a guest!

My sister had a dog that even after he was fixed he would hump everyone as well as many things, especially our other sister. He would follow her every where. My sister found that the best way to fix this is to show dominance over the dog. Every time he would try humping someone or something she would pinch his ear just hard enough to get his attention similar to how mother dogs and wolves nip their puppies ears to ensure their dominance. Eventually he stopped.

However, this technique only works on dogs. I tried it on my husband to get him to leave me alone when we were first married and apparently, on humans, it has the opposite effect.
