    I think it's normal for big dogs, too: they follow the pack leader, whomever that might be, and care also for other pack members.

    I think it's adorable that your doggo does that. Does it bother you, though--the constant following? If so, please make sure that you don't lash out at your dog. Dogs are very sensitive to angry reactions. As such, there's nothing abnormal with your doggo's actions. Is your partner equally involved with the dog? Who feeds your dog?

    The dog is just really attached to you, I think. I had a doberman, who as a puppy never left my side. He grew more independent with time, though, but was still very attached and loving.

    Just a theory and it's probably already been stated in earlier comments. Dogs follow the person around who feeds them and gives them water. Has the dog been consistently fed and given enough food and water?  Dogs will often follow a person around who rubbed their little doggy tummies. The dog likes that and wants more.
