We just got a rabbit, any tips on litter training her?
We just brought her home a few days ago and we want her litter trained. She will use her litter box, but when she's out running around she poops and pees. She's picked one corner in the room to use as her little restroom... I've read she should spend a good amount of time in her cage at first while she's being litter trained. Any other suggestions?
Put her litterpan in a corner of the cage with some of her stool mixed in with the litter. Keep her in the cage until she gets used to using only the one in the cage. It helps if you have a cage that opens in the front, so she can go in and out of the cage freely. If not, then it would be wise to put another litterpan in the corner of the room she is favoring. Don't give up hope, rabbits are very smart animals and soon will get the hang of it.
Here is some suggestions on how to train your rabbit. First you will have to go out and buy a small cat litter box or a rabbit high back litter box. After you have established which corner your rabbit likes put the litter box in that corner. You can use your choice of litter in this box just remember that rabbits love to dig and will throw some out onto your floor. After you place the box in the corner you will have to put some of the rabbits droppings into the box. Rabbits are very big with scents. Hopefully your bunny will smell the droppings and realize that is where they belong and not on the floor. Good luck with your pet.
In my opinion you should buy the best rabbit hutch for your rabbit. And it is easily available from the Feel Good company.

Why won't my cat just pee in the litterbox like a normal kitty? My cat has a litterbox. He poops in it faithfully, but never pees in it. He pees in the corner of the kitchen near where his food is. Sometimes he pees in the corner of the bathroom.
