   How do you feel about kissing your dog in the mouth?  What about letting your dog lick your lips?
   
   How do you feel about kissing your dog in the mouth?  What about letting your dog lick your lips? How about sharing a french kiss with your doggie?  I cringe whenever I see someone doing it.  It's just so nasty to me.  There are a million and one other ways to have closeness with and show love to your pooch!

   I guess I have never seen this happen - I would be disgusted.  .  I see nothing wrong with hugging my dog, giving him a kiss on the top of his head - and I don't mind an occasional lick on my cheek but not on a regular basis.  I have no idea where his tongue has been!

   I've seen people do this many times before and the only thing that comes to mind is what that dog was licking before it decided to lick that persons mouth.

   Hey I know where that tongue was:, the butt amongst other things. I try not to get face licked but sometimes it happens. Yeah dog's mouths are supposed to be cleaner than a human's but I turn my head so don't get it on the kisser.

      I know some people fill its gross and unsanitary to let a dog lick us in the mouth,but just think of the fluids that are exchanged when having oral sex.now a days who doesn't have oral sex.Evan anal.My puppy doesn't know where some people has been

   Yes I agree Prisca, there are many other ways to show affection to your pet. I would leave the french kissi of a doggie for his doggess.

   With all their excitement sometimes it just happens...i don't believe anyone woud put their mouth near the dog's with that intention but the truth is that sometimes it happens...nothing to worrry..

   I think it is really disgusting. My husband let's our Malteses eat food from his mouth. All I can think of is "gross, now I have to kiss him later knowing that he just did that!"

   I think it's unhealthy for you and the dog. He can get sick from you or you from him from germs.

    As the owner of 1 young puppy and a one year old pain, I battle with this problem daily.  It seems that their tongues are hell bent on making it into my mouth - whipping around until contact is made ... Honestly? I find it freaking gross! Sometimes it has a taste to it that makes me gag, yuck!
    
    Unfortunately for me it us unavoidable, and as cute as puppy breath is, the taste is awful and the thoughts of where it's ..... Uh, sorry, you get the point.

    I thinks it's disgusting, I have a dog but no way, I agree with TechTrendy what were they licking before.
    Some dogs are very licky, if this is the case let them lick the back of your hand it's easier to wash before cooking.   Good question.

    I have a wonderful dog and i love her. I guess i rather not kiss my dog in the mouth or let her lick my lips. Definitely not a good habit for me although dog's tongue is the cleanest tongue of all creatures in this world.

    Dogs lick their anus. I wouldn't want to have a dog lick its anus, then lick my mouth.

    I let my dog lick my mouth on occasion, but sometimes he catches me laughing or talking, when my mouth is open, and then it's gross! I know where that tongue has been!

    My dog knows that I enjoy a little kiss/lick on the check with our good morning rituals.  The mouth is off limits and she knows it.  My boyfriend, however, does not allow her tongue on any part of his body.  He conditioned her, using his 'DADDY VOICE' saying 'DON'T LICK ME' over and over again.  I know this sounds nuts but now they have their own good morning ritual.  Daisy crawls up on his chest, she gets as close as possible to his face and wags her tail.  He doesn't even have to say 'DON'T LICK ME' in daddy voice anymore. They have a staring match for maybe a minute, then daddy says, 'good puppy, don't lick me'  and either play or snuggle begins.

    I'm sorry, but, I find this disgusting.  I can't believe that anyone who ever watched what a dog eats outside would still let him/her lick his face or mouth.  Yuk!!

    Dogs are known for licking. It is one of the first skill they learn and a basic thing to show their affection towards human being and their animal companions.
    
    When people do it or their Dogs lick their lips, would you feel embarrassed or happy?.
    
    Sometimes, it is little awkward, however, it is the way of pets to express their utmost love towards their masters. Even if we know that the mouth of a Dog is supposed to be cleaner than a human's, but do you agree that licking on your lip by your dog is safe as far as health is concerned?. In fact it is not only unhealthy for you but also to your dog as the germs coming out with the lick of dog can put you infected and the dog can get sick from you as well.
    
    I feel it is disgusting. But when I asked one of my friends who has a small puppy at home that why do people like licking their lips by their dogs especially women pet owners?. He was of the view that it is nothing wrong licking by a Dog but only on the face instead of lips. He doesn't mind an occasional lick by his dog on his face, but not on a regular basis.
    
    Face licking by a Dog can be tolerated but when mouth licking is there then this appears to be unsanitary and as such it should be avoided. Because the dogs have a habit of licking their anus quite often and if they do licking on a human lip, it is of course not a healthy practice.
